What’s the best advice you can give someone looking to hire a professional in your field?

Do your research! Each vendor has a specific range of prices and services, from FarmToTable_8-15-1429photographers and entertainment to wedding planners and caterers. To find the best fit for your wedding and budget, you can’t rely solely on price comparison. The benefits vendors offer and their quality of service play a big role in their pricing. You must compare both apples to apples. Almost all companies are on social media which can give you great insight into their day to day and the opportunity to see past events. Look at sites like Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram to give a view into the company. Also, check out their reviews on sites like Wedding Wire, The knot, and yelp which will tell you about past client experiences. There are many ways right at your fingertips to research your potential vendors.

What’s a fond event memory that you have?

Over the past 30 years, John and I have made so many cherished relationships with our Credit Erb Photography_MoA?<<t Henn essy Grand Marnier_091615-5208employees, our clients and our business partners. It has been so heartfelt for us to have a number of employees who have worked with us in the past, moved on in their careers and then take the time to come back and say how meaningful their time here at Peppers was. We have a saying here that, “ it’s all about learning and growing together”.We create memories every day and feel fortunate that the passion we as a team exude for creating meaningful celebrations is shared with our clients and business partners. We have developed so many lasting relationships. It gives real meaning to what we do.

Any interesting stories about how you got into your profession? vegan

For both John and I our beginnings were pretty straight forward. We both have a passion for delicious food, and creating an environment where it can be celebrated.I think the interesting story is how peppers has evolved over 30 years from a food to go retail shop to the artful full experience we offer our clients today. It has kept our lives full and blessed.

Monthly Update

Can’t believe how quickly October went but now it’s November so that means it’s time for our monthly update! Here’s what’s hot going into this holiday season.

As we all know, November is all about being thankful for everything we have, so it’s the perfect time to invite friends and family over to celebrate or start planning for Thanksgiving early and get a head start!

Of course we need a November color palate and we are loving neutrals, dark berry colors and a deep mustard yellow for a pop and something to excite the eyes. Incorporate these colors into your food and drink menu as well as your decor for a truly awesome autumn event.

Flannels are so in right now and we are not complaining! Add tasteful touches of flannel into all your holiday decor. Use it as a table runner or napkins, add it into centerpieces or use for placemats. Another fall fave is to create a flannel pillow or blanket to “fallify” your event space and make it as warm and inviting as possible!

Another hot trend for November is incorporating outdoorsy aspects like tree slices into your event. Farm tables are the perfect canvas for your creative and beautiful fall tablescape. Add in tree slices as the base for your centerpiece or use them as chargers for each place setting. Also a great place card or table number! Can you tell we are loving the rugged look this month?!

It’s all about taking those rustic and rugged pieces like tree slices, logs and flannel and making them classy and inviting for your event. Serve mulled apple cider in copper mugs and food on white or cream plates to let the colorful fall foods act as part of your color scheme.

Some of our fave products this month are customized pillows and linens, Walnut Farm tables, Tree Slice bars, French Countryside china, Forged Flatware, Copper Mugs and Flax Lounge Furniture! Perfect for any style, theme and event, these products are begging to be spruced up with warm fall colors and hearty food.

Whatever event you are hosting this month, enjoy the people in your life that attend and all that you have to be grateful for. Keep it simple and involve all your loved ones as much as possible. Take the time to tell those you love all that they mean to you. ec4fe150dba29ca2ae09eacbe6636c45-3

Bringing the Outdoors In

Well, it has officially gotten to the cold part of fall which means being outside for extended periods of time sounds less than enjoyable. As we head inside for some holiday cheer and warm food and drink, let us give you some creative ideas to give your holiday party an outdoorsy feel while enjoying the warmth of the fireplace and mulled cider.

We are loving outdoor fire pits as a centerpiece of a room. Interlace twinkle lights as an alternative to an open flame (which you should not try at home, or inside at all). Another option is to use lanterns which are usually a super cute accent for outdoor events to warm it up and make the space cozy, so why shouldn’t we use them inside for the same purpose!!

Another idea is to incorporate woodsy items into your table scape. Use a tree slice as the base for a centerpiece or birch branches in a vase. Pinecones and fall fruits also make for more understated, yet equally beautiful centerpiece.

One of our products we love is our tree slice bar which is an awesome and unique piece to “bring the outdoors in!”

Use greenery, pumpkins and gourds wherever possible to spruce up your event space. They make everything look festive and organic.

You can’t go wrong with shades of brown, forest greens and reds and golds. These are the colors of nature and the best way to give an organic and outdoorsy feel without actually using trees at your event.

Above all think earthy decor and color scheme which is perfect for Autumn and is the perfect way to bring the outdoors in now that we have to suck it up that our days of late night bonfires on the beach are a little out of the question. Unless maybe you have invented a full body sized hand warmer that we can wrap ourselves in?! No… us either… what a shame. Guess our only option is to have wonderful cozy parties with comfort food and hot spiked cider with pumpkin flavored everything. How ever will we survive?!

Keep an eye out for our post on creating a winter wonderland that Jack Frost himself would be proud of!
